Extremely seasoned executive assistant is needed for CEO of a small run ‘family’ business focusing on finance etc.

This is is NOT for someone with an entertainment background.

Should the holidays interfere with your job search?

Many of our candidates are asking us about the upcoming holidays and how we anticipate that affecting the job market.  Often times people take the months of November and December OFF from looking for a job because most employers are not focused on hiring during the holiday season.

The Grapevine has an alternative perspective to consider.   In our experience, January is one of the busiest months for hiring.  The reason for this is because many employees who are unhappy in their jobs decide to stick it out during the holiday season in order to get their well deserved paid vacations, holiday gifts, company parties and x-mas bonuses.  When January rolls around, a lot of employees feel that it’s the perfect time to make their move to another job.  As you can imagine,  employers typically hire the candidates that are fresh on their minds.  Candidates who will most likely get a call will be those who interviewed in the recent months (November and December).

Our advice:  Don’t use the holidays as your excuse not to look for work!  Instead, give yourself the edge over the competition and hopefully by January you will land yourself a great new job… what an amazing holiday gift that would be!
